# About Marc DeCaria

At my core I am an entrepreneur and an explorer, driven by a lifelong curiosity about how things work and how they could work better. I was knocking on doors with something to offer at ten years old and launched my first real venture in high school. That same drive is behind everything I do, whether it is building companies or asking bigger questions about who we are and where we are headed.

## The work

I put a coffee store online in 1996, years before most people had heard of e-commerce, and I have been selling coffee online ever since. San Marco Coffee has been based in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2006. Over the years I have worked with teams of developers on the automation behind it, and I stay hands on with the software and the servers behind it.

I also publish open source modules for Zen Cart under the name Marcopolo. Each one is built and proven on San Marco Coffee first, then released for any shop that needs it.

## The writing

Since 2015 I have experienced what I call downloads: flashes of insight into a larger system that operates beyond the limits of our current models. They have reshaped how I understand time, consciousness and our place inside something bigger. The writing on this site is my attempt to map that system plainly, one problem examined at many altitudes.

With a background in business and technology, I am interested in how AI can act as more than a tool. Used well, it becomes an interface that helps decompress and organize what we are starting to understand about consciousness. I test every framework across different models and fresh sessions, and I keep the archive open so anyone can read it and check it.

## What keeps me grounded

My wife of 28 years and our three daughters are my anchor points. They keep me focused on what matters most and remind me that exploring the outer edges of reality only counts if you bring something back that makes life here richer.
